BNP’s Standing Committee member, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, has stressed that the party demands the national election be held by December to return the ownership to the people.
He made this statement on Thursday, March 20, during a press briefing at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.
Chowdhury pointed out that, "There is no possibility of holding the 11th National Parliament election after December. To restore people`s ownership, BNP insists on holding the election within December."
The BNP leader also revealed that discussions regarding the upcoming election had taken place with the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh.
"Those who believe in democracy should have no disagreements on this matter," he added.
Earlier, a BNP delegation led by General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met with EU Ambassador to Bangladesh, Michael Miller.
The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan and also saw the participation of Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, along with Organizational Secretary Shama Obaid.
